Anna Cavallo, a
graduate of
Macalester College, served as concertmaster of the Macalester Symphony
Orchestra and performed several solo works with the orchestra as well
as participating in various chamber groups. She studied with Mary
Budd Horozaniecki at Macalester and has participated in masterclass
with Dr. Sarah Hersh. Anna is accepting new violin students starting
immediately.
Emily
Kellerman,
began taking Suzuki
cello lessons in 1988. She later studied with Janina Ehrlich at
Augustana College. She participated in the Quad City Youth Symphony,
the Iowa All-State Orchestra, the Augustana Symphony Orchestra, and the
Northfield Community Orchestra. Her repertoire varies widely, from Bach
suites to modern music. More recently she has been exploring the role
of the cellist in contemporary jazz music. She currently alternates
between teaching cello and repairing
violin family instruments at Cadenza.

Ellen Lease,
graduate of University of Minnesota School of Music, winner of McKnight
and Bush Fellowships. Ellen performs in both classical and jazz idioms
with Ellen Lease/Pat Moriarty Quintet, as well as many local jazz and
new music groups. Accompanied Jean Pierre Rampal at his Twin Cities
master class.
Wes Ruell is a graduate of William Paterson University, where he received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance with a Minor in Classical Performance. Wes recently relocated to the Twin Cities, where he performs with a variety of groups in a variety of genres, including jazz, classical, rock, funk, and blues.

Jeff
King, studied sax at the University of Minnesota with Ruben
Haugen,
and at Cadenza Music with Pat Moriarty. Toured South America with the
Lakewood Big Band, and performed with Clark Terry, Bill Wattrous, Bud
Shank and others. The Jeff King Quintet has been featured on 2 'Cookin'
at the Dakota' radio shows. Jeff is a 'first call' sax player in the
Twin Cities, and can be heard live most weekends.
Dorothy
Sauser-Monnig, graduate of Macalester College, MFA in flute from
University of Minnesota. Dorothy has performed with a variety of
ensembles including the Minneapolis Civic Orchestra, Westminster Winds,
and various jazz groups as well as solo recitals. Dorothy is on the
faculty at North Star Elementary school in Minneapolis.
Andy Nelson,
clarinet and
saxophone, studied with Pat Moriarity, and graduated with a music
degree from DePaul University. After several
years of playing in New York and
on cruise ships, Andy returned to St. Paul
to teach and perform.
Holly Tapani, clarinet, is finishing up her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Making music and helping others are her two passions and she continues to do research and work with patients with brain injuries. Holly has played clarinet for 13 years and enjoys taking a creative approach to teaching that is individualized to the student. This is her second year teaching at Cadenza.
Ivy Tulchinsky, Bachelor of
Music in Bassoon Performance University of Minnesota, studied with
Charles
Ullery. In addition to performing with the Fargo Moorhead
Symphony for
two seasons, Ivy has also performed with the Saint Cloud Symphony,
Minnesota
Center Chorale, and the Fargo Moorhead Opera Company. Ivy is a member
of the
Gilded Lily Trio, and freelances in the Twin Cities area.

Scott Anderson. studied at Bemidji State and U of
M with Ross Tolbert (MN Orchestra) and Tom Swanson. He performed under
David Baldwin in the U of M Brass Choir, and has been a member of
Baldwin's Summit Hill Brass for 25 years. Scott has been teaching
privately for ten years.

Paul Storms,
graduate of University of Minnesota, studied with Jeffery Van.
Performed in master classes with Sharon Isbin, Christopher Parkening,
and Larry Coryell. He also performed with Larry Coryell at the Ordway.
Finalist in Schubert Club Competition (bested by Sharon Isbin.) He's
performed live on KDWB, WCCO (TV) and KTCA.
Chris Micek studied classical guitar at the U of
M with Jim McGuire, and performed with the U of M Jazz band. Also
studied with Kevin Daley. Chris is a 'first call' player and can often
be heard performing with Cadenza Music's Jeff King.
Erik
Fratzke, bass, studied 2 years at St. Mary's College with Dr.
John
Paulson, including the Summer Jazz Workshop, as well as a summer
session at Berklee College of Music. He was selected Best Bassist of
the year by the MN Music Academy in '93, '95 and '98. He has been
teaching for 15 years, and currently can be heard with his trio, Happy
Apple.
Ben Connelly,
1992 music graduate of Macalester
College. Studied guitar, music theory, voice, cello and African
drumming. Toured with the rock band Steeplejack. Ben has been teaching
locally since 1992, and has been performing in support of his recent
solo album, "You Burn Hotter".
Travis Henspeter
teaches guitar, bass, mandolin, and songwriting. A 2002 graduate of
Macalester College and the son of a rock bass player, Travis performs
solo and with numerous bands, frequently playing alongside one or more
of his threee musician brothers. His latest project is Shoveldance.
Travis likes to
work with the beginning to intermediate
student, and prefers a simple, fun approach to learning.
Michael Zimmerman,
guitar, has been teaching locally since 1995, and has performed
professionally in the Twin Cities area with the Kurt Jorgenson Band,
the Michael Shane Band, and numerous others. Michael studied music at
Waldorf College and audio recording at Brown College in Minneapolis. He
teaches many styles of guitar playing, for beginning to advanced
students.

Eron
Woods is a graduate of the University of
Miami with a degree
in jazz performance. He has toured throughout the country and performed
with artists such as Clint Holmes, Carol Lawrence, "The Spinners",
"The Drifters", "The Coasters", and Dominck Allen. Eron can be heard
locally with "Dig 'Dis" jazz trio, "Exquisite Corps" jazz trio, the
Dean Brewington Quintet, or at a coffee shop near you with Cadenza
Music's own Eugene Monnig. |
