Whether you currently play, used to play, or always wanted to, we have the musical instruments, teachers, music and repair shop you need.

Since 1969 Cadenza Music has expanded twice, moved down the block, added a repair shop, expanded the repair shop, and added more teaching studios. We've sold music, guitars, band and orchestra instruments, repaired them, and taught both children and adults to play them.

Most of Cadenza Music's instrument repair customers are local, but a growing number ship their instruments to us, especially bassoons. Chuck Ullery, principal bassoonist of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra is among the regular repair customers. Ullery says, "I impose on those guys all the time. Whenever I'm panicked about my bassoon I just race in and they are so nice, and so good! It's the best repair shop in town."

We supply many teachers with the instruments, music and repair service they need to keep their own programs going. Chris Kachian, Director of the University of St. Thomas guitar program, says, "Cadenza is my favorite destination to send students. The staff is personable, the store is convenient, and they always have the right stuff. They also have great teachers."

One of the nicest features of Cadenza Music is the sense of community between the staff and the customers. Part time saxophonist, full time humorist, and long time Cadenza customer Elmer Pierre says, "If you need something they don't carry, they're not only eager to find it for you, but they're very clear on the price, and how long it will take. Also, if you can't have a fun conversation with a staff member there's sure to be a customer in the store who knows something about a topic you're interested in, or better yet, some tasteless jokes."
